More About Maytag

Maytag offers a fine lineup of dryers, with 39 available models for sale with prices ranging from $550 to $1,650. Maytag dryers come in different forms, from high-efficiency models to traditional models and combination washer/dryer units. These dryers can either be electric or gas powered, and have a capacity from around 6 cubic feet to more than 7.3 cubic feet. Special features available include wrinkle prevention, Advanced Moisture Sensing, and SoundGuard stainless steel dryer drums. As the name suggests, SoundGuard models are specially designed to reduce noise made by objects like coins, zippers, belt buckles, and just about anything else that finds its way into the dryer. If dryer noise is a concern for you, this technology may help bring more peace and quiet to your home.
Born as Maytag Washing Machine Company in 1893, Maytag Corporation was originally founded in Newton, Iowa, as a manufacturer specializing in washing machines for use in homes. During World War II, Maytag halted production of washing machines to assist in war efforts by manufacturing parts for military equipment, and by the 1950s, the company began expanding into commercial offerings. In the modern era, the company made headlines when it was acquired by Whirlpool in 2006, after Maytag had gone through several years of turbulent decline. Whirlpool now uses the Maytag brand on appliances it manufactures, and continues to operate Maytag's subsidiaries like Admiral and Amana. The Maytag name will likely remain a household name for years to come.
